Fire brigades from the entire Waldshut district were at the ice rink in Herrischried on Saturday. The reason: acting contests. Participation is crucial to demonstrate skills and then receive the achievement badge. For the first time, the young fire brigades also participated in solving the tasks and then received the performance bar.
With the best weather, the ice rink was busy early in the morning. A total of 18 groups from twelve fire departments were represented to meet the test requirements.
Nine firefighters formed a competition group.

All these tasks were carried out by the fire teams from Albbruck, Wehr, the Novartis Wehr construction fire department, Herrischried, Ühlingen-Birkendorf, Grafenhausen, Murg and St. Blasien.

The extinguishing water had to be taken from an open body of water, the attack teams had to work with respiratory protection and also be able to rescue people in the event of a traffic accident.
the gold award dominated the Todtmoos and Eimeldingen fire brigades. In addition to the silver badge requirements, there were written questions to answer and a foam insert to build.
Youth convinces with achievements
Five youth fire brigades showcased their skills in five disciplines. Written questions had to be answered, a fire fighting attack and hose relay had to be conducted and physical fitness had to be tested with a shot put and a 1500 meter long relay race.
A group of youngsters from the Küssaberg fire brigade purchased the Jugendflamme 2. The six participating teams from Görwihl, Murg and Albbruck impressively demonstrated that the good work of the youngsters is paying off. District youth leader Pattric Grzybek was also impressed by the performance of the youth fire brigades.

District administrator Kistler also highly praised the good work of the fire departments. He was pleased that after the long Corona break it is possible again to demonstrate the performance of the defense forces with competitions. He congratulated the successful teams, but also had to say goodbye to long-time referees Peter Morath from Grafenhausen, Wolfgang Butz Bad Säckingen, Gerhard Roder Küssaberg and Friedemann Kikillus from the active fire service for reasons of age. They were given a gift.
District fire chief Dominik Rotzinger praised: “The cooperation with the fire departments was extremely good and perfectly planned.” He thanked the mayor of Herrischried, Christian Dröse, in particular, for allowing the acting competitions to take place in Herrischried. An additional thank you went to the Herrischried fire department. He looked after the physical well-being of members of the military and spectators, including the Lichtenstein and Reutlingen fire brigades.
