“Sport im Park” enters the next round and attracts visitors with a variety of offers

If you want to take advantage of the excellent summer weather as an incentive and want to play sports in the fresh air, “Sport im Park” is the right place for you. The offer runs from June to August.

The popular “Sport in the Park” series enters the next round in the district of Coesfeld and the municipality of Nordkirchen will be there again together with Billerbeck, Coesfeld, Dülmen, Havixbeck, Nottuln, Rosendahl and Send. From June 13 to August 6, 2022, all people interested in sports can again participate in a wide range of sports courses, without registration and completely free of charge. This year, the Sport-im-Park courses will take place in the town park of Capell.

there is something for everyone

“Sport im Park” is aimed at inexperienced people and athletes of all ages. Everyone is welcome and can participate. The courses are organized by the Kreissportbund Coesfeld and conducted by qualified trainers. Training sessions last around an hour and take place in all weather conditions. Bring leisure or sports clothes, a drink and a towel. There are no toilets, showers or changing rooms.

The program at a glance:

Fascinating training (FC Nordkirchen)

  • Monday, 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. (June 20/13/27, July 25/4 and August 1)

It’s a quiet hour where Pilates exercises meet yoga asanas and classic workouts that engage the fascia and start with a centering exercise and end with a relaxation exercise. Please bring a mat or blanket, sneakers are not required, socks are welcome.

Gymnastics fitness / Flexibar (SV Südkirchen)

  • Tuesday, from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. (June 14/21/28, July 5/12/19/26 and August 2)

After a brief warm-up phase, the movements continue standing or on the mat. Small devices such as dumbbells, resistance bands and the popular Flexibars are used.

Children’s fitness (parent-child gymnastics – 1 to 4 years, SV Südkirchen)

  • Wednesday from 4 to 5 p.m. (July 13/20/27 and August 3)

It offers movement, fun motor skills exercises and fun with music. Absolute requirement: children must already be able to walk!

Summer Biathlon (SSV Südkirchen)

  • Wednesday from 5:00 p.m. (06/13/20 July)

The summer biathlon is a combination of running and shooting. Running requires strength and agility, shooting requires focus and self-discipline. The SSV Südkirchen uses two light guns, hits are displayed electronically. Light pistols are not carried while sprinting.

Full body workout with smovey (SC Capelle)

  • Wednesdays from 6 to 7 p.m. (June 22, July 13/6/27 and August 3)

Training with smovey promotes metabolism, massages and soothes the lymphatic system, tightens connective tissue, mobilizes digestion, strengthens the cardiovascular system and strengthens the immune system. There are 20 pairs of smovey available. If participants already have smovey, they can bring it along with a bottle of water.

Zumba® (SC Capelle)

  • Thursday from 7pm to 8pm (June 16/23/30 and July 7/14)

Zumba Fitness is a fitness program that combines elements of Latin American dance, uplifting music, and an uplifting group environment.

Yoga (SC Capelle)

  • Thursday from 6 to 7 p.m. (June 23/30 and July 7)

Yoga is one of the oldest systems in the world, uniting body, mind and spirit and promoting personal development. Stress and tension are reduced, the body remains healthy and full of energy.
