Bad Lausick. Biceps instead of beats: The band’s rehearsal room in the basement of the Bad Lausick children’s and youth center finds a new purpose. A group of young people make it a small but excellent gym. Devices are currently being configured. The first training should probably be possible at the end of the week.

Small stage upstairs, gym equipment in the basement
“For me, the youth center is just around the corner. It would be nice to play sports here,” says Tobias Priemer. For the 10th grader from the neighboring high school, the house is a good place to meet others. It is important for him to help shape it according to his own ideas. That is why he contributed his grain of sand when a few months ago a room was set up for club events, readings, small concerts and parties. He also likes the idea of a gym. Max Köhler, who is the same age, is one of those who would like to participate. Together they tow the technology to the basement, which will be used for retrofitting in the future.
Young people find followers in Bad Lausick
“Before we used to come to town to sell bricks so we could buy floor coverings, wall paint and lamps. There is rarely enough money in youth work. That’s why we always need the support of the companies and the people on the spot,” says Thomas Schuricht, who runs the youth center supported by the Mulde/Collm workers’ welfare organization. The rehearsal room for young bands had been deserted for years and a new use was needed.The offer of the hairdressers and cosmetics GmbH Bad Lausick, which no longer has any use for a range of high-quality fitness equipment and thus leaves them in the hands of the teenagers, it was helpful.The city shipyard took care of the transport when the room was renovated.The youngsters are now installing them in the new location.

The Bad Lausick bodybuilding club offers technical assistance. “Club boss Falk Wosch is drawing up a training plan for the youngsters,” says Schuricht. If you like this youth center training and want to intensify it, you are welcome to move to the club later on; a win-win situation for both parties.
