2022 HDI Motor Vehicle Fee Focuses on Sustainability

New comprehensive packages and discounts reward green motor vehicles

Think green, be green – that’s the goal of HDI. The new tariff for motor vehicles with premium benefits for those customers who opt for low-emission mobility in the interest of the environment must also promote sustainable behavior and contribute.

On April 25, 2022, the HDI PUNKT:GENAU car rate will start with many new features.

What is new, for example, is that the CO2 value is taken into account in car liability insurance according to the WLTP (Worldwide Harmonized Light Vehicle Test Procedure) method; Less pollutants, less premium. Hybrid and electric vehicles are also considered separately and are rewarded with environmental bonuses.

Special attention was also paid to comprehensive insurance. In addition to the already high product standards, there are now optional packages that are individually tailored to the respective drive type.

The “E-Package”, a precautionary package for electric and hybrid vehicles, can be ordered as an optional service module in the fully comprehensive and partial comprehensive insurance variants, which offers, among other things, insurance cover for the wall box which is also insured, for damage caused by indirect lightning strikes and damage caused by hacker attacks.

Of course, there is also a cover module for combustion engines and hybrid vehicles; the KaskoPLUS package. This complete package includes personal injury insurance and replacement value compensation.

“When developing the product, we make sure that the tariff also contains those characteristics that point to sustainability”, reports Doris Schiebel, head of the specialized department for private lines.

“Aligned to the changing needs and behaviors of our customers, as well as changes in legislation, we have designed a rate that fits PUNKT:GENAU. Regardless of the type of unit, there are certainly attractive insurance solutions. sustainable purchases, such as the expensive purchase of electric vehicles. At the same time, those who continue to rely on combustion engines, but pay attention to lower CO2 emissions, are also rewarded: less CO2 means less premium.”

In addition to attractive innovations, the tried and tested has also been kept. Customers can still look forward to seven additional bonus levels with annual advances, the large international insurance card issued free of charge for 3 months and an 11% discount on the HDI workshop network. This is represented by more than 200 partner workshops throughout Austria and also offers self-payers discounts on liability (eg annual service), provided that the selected workshop offers the “mechanical” service. Those with comprehensive insurance also save half the deductible at HDI’s partner garages ensuring that vehicle owners receive the best advice and insurance possible from HDI and its partners.

As a company that attaches great importance to sustainability and environmentally friendly actions in daily operations, it was important for HDI to reinforce the green line in motor vehicle insurance and set an example for further CO2 reduction.

“Our focus must be on making decisions that ensure a livable world for future generations. We are aware of our responsibility as a company. For us, sustainability does not only mean that the profits obtained flow into sustainable investments, but that these profits are already obtained in an environmentally and socially responsible way and that we also act accordingly in our daily work. Our new motor vehicle tariff for 2022 should also contribute to this,” explains Günther Weiß, CEO of HDI Versicherung AG.
