- CHECK24’s 300 experts advise on all matters related to motor vehicle insurance
Owners of expensive SUVs and luxury sedans pay the most for their liability insurance. In a calculation with the 300 most insured cars through CHECK24, the liability insurance of a BMW X5/X6 3.0 D costs 482 euros per year.1) The Mercedes-Benz E 220 CDI (480 euros) and the BMW 316i (393 euros).
The classification of vehicles in different type classes is decisive for the different contributions.
“The type classes reflect, among other things, the accident statistics of the car models and the repair costs of the injured parties involved in the accident.”says Dr. Rainer Klipp, Managing Director of Motor Vehicle Insurance at CHECK24. “The higher the rating, the more damages have been reported and settled in recent years and the more expensive car insurance is for the model.”
