Generali, Basler Versicherungen and the accident insurance company Stadt Zürich UVZ present Sumex

Solothurn – IT service provider Centris is introducing the Sumex II invoice verification solution in the outsourcing model for Generali Switzerland, Basler Versicherungen and the accident insurance company of the city of Zurich (UVZ). The three projects follow on from the successful introduction of the Sumex solution at the Zurich Insurance Cooperative and Aargau Building Insurance last year. With Sumex II, insurers can handle their entire claims evaluation process automatically.

IT service provider Centris, which specializes in health and accident insurers, has been operating the Sumex II invoice verification solution for the accident insurance city of Zurich (UVZ) since May. With Generali Switzerland and Basler Versicherungen, two other projects for the introduction of Sumex are in the final stretch at the end of 2022. Last year, the solution was already presented at the industry insurance cooperative and the construction insurance company of Aargau. By the end of the year, a total of five customers who have decided to introduce it in 2021 will process their invoices and receipts at Centris using Sumex II in the software-as-a-service model.

In the UVZ, the accident insurance of the city of Zurich, Sumex II entered into productive operation in mid-May. Thanks to the insurer’s detailed specifications and Centris’ conceptual knowledge, an automated invoice verification system tailored to UVZ’s needs could be set up and operational in just a few months. This is UVZ’s conclusion after the successful commissioning: “The introduction of Sumex II is an important step for us on the way to highly automated and efficient invoice verification. Together with Centris, we were able to integrate the Sumex II project into our core application on time and within budget.”

The project is also about to be launched. Overall Switzerland with a planned start-up in July. Joel Dos Reis, Director of Bodily Injury Claims at Generali, is convinced that he has the right partner at his side for this partial outsourcing at industry leader Centris: “Centris’s many years of experience, flexibility and specialist knowledge made a significant contribution to our decision to entrust the introduction and operation of digitized invoice verification to a partner.” At the end of the year the fifth and, for the moment, last connection to Basler Versicherungen will follow.

Centris has been operating Sumex for nearly two decades as part of its Swiss Health Platform (SHP) industrial solution. The software itself comes from Sumex AG, a subsidiary of ELCA Informatik, and is being developed in direct cooperation with Swiss health and accident insurers. The modular structure and modern technologies enable distinctive individualization, efficient dark processing and optimal support of process automation. In addition to the solution’s high level of maturity, insurers benefit in particular from seamless integration into existing core systems, versatile customization options, and strict data protection.
