York-Alexander Dornhof will take over as head of the motor vehicle division at Gothaer Allgemeine AG on January 1, 2023. He was previously Head of Corporate Strategy at Ergo. There are also personnel changes in the Underwriting and Risk Engineering segments.
Already on July 1, 2022, Simone Heickenfeld will take over underwriting management in the area of composite industrial customers. She succeeds Wilma Rauschmaier, who has headed the Claims Competence Center in Gothaer since January. Also effective July 1, Konstantin Engel will be appointed Head of Risk Engineering in the Composite Industrial Customers division.

Dornhof has more than 17 years of experience in the insurance industry. After training as an insurance salesman at Axa, he studied business administration in Cologne and Düsseldorf. After working as a management consultant at PricewaterhouseCoopers and Capgemini, he joined Ergo in 2018. In 2019 he took over as head of the Corporate Strategy department and at the end of 2021 he was also appointed Acting Head of Corporate Development.
Heickenfeld becomes Head of Composite Industrial Client Underwriting
On July 1, 2022, Simone Heickenfeld will take on the role of Underwriting Director at Gothaer’s Composite Industrial Clients division. The subscription was previously divided into North and South areas and will now be combined into a single unit.
Heickenfeld has over 19 years of industry experience and brings a wide range of specialist knowledge. Most recently, he managed Underwriting South for the multi-line underwriting area, which also includes Gothaer Unternehmer Police. In his new role, he is responsible for underwriting civil liability, property, multiline, engineering, renewable energy and transportation insurance nationwide.
Konstantin Engel assumes the management of risk engineering in the area of composite industrial clients
Also effective July 1, 2022, Konstantin Engel will take on the role of Head of Risk Engineering at Gothaer’s Composite Industrial Customers division. The 59-year-old has many years of experience in central positions in industrial insurance and most recently made a significant contribution to the successful expansion of Gothaer’s international business as Head of International Management. In his new role, Engel is responsible for the further development of the fire, burglary and burglary security, valuation and liability units.
