In recent weeks, Vema Versicherungsmakler Genossenschaft eG has conducted a quality survey among its more than 4,000 partner companies (VersicherungsJournal September 29, 2021) on product providers in the area of ​​supplementary medical insurance.

Among other things, the surveyed insurance intermediaries were asked to name the three providers most used in new business. As part of the survey, there were 1,156 mentions of dental rates and 855 in the hospitalization area. The number of votes cast for outpatient products was 605.

Tooth: Barmenia wins first place

In the ranking of the most used providers in the dental segment, Barmenia Krankenversicherung AG ranks first. More than one in six respondents voted for Wuppertal. Arag Krankenversicherungs-AG secured silver with a one-eighth stake.

In a tight race for third place, Allianz Private Krankenversicherungs-AG beat Continentale Krankenversicherung aG by a margin of one vote. Both players were able to unite over each named twelfth seed.

He was also tight in places five through ten, which are separated by just six votes. There, with shares of around 4.5 percent each, DKV Deutsche Krankenversicherung AG, Signal Iduna Krankenversicherung aG and Hallesche Krankenversicherung aG are ahead of newcomers Bayerische Amtskrankenkasse AG (BBKK), Münchener Verein Krankenversicherung aG and Universa Krankenversicherung aG. .

Compared to the previous survey (February 11, 2020), Barmenia managed to jump from 10th place to the top. As a result, Arag, Allianz, Continentale and DKV fell one position each. Also, Signal Iduna outperformed Hallesche.

Barmenia were able to overtake Arag, while Allianz and Hallesche defended their ranks from the last quality survey. The DKV left the Signal Iduna behind. Inter overtook Continentalen and Axa, who lost one position each. Hansemerkur is new to the top ten.

Ambulatory: many rank changes

Barmenia also kept competitors in the outpatient sector at a distance. And that with a respectable lead: at nearly a fifth, the Wuppertalers have nearly double the share of second-place Signal Iduna at a ninth.

Allianz in the bronze rank was able to match approximately one in ten named favourites. Arag in fourth place managed a share of almost one eleventh, DKV in fifth place around one thirteenth.

Compared to the other two areas, the ranges changed more in outpatient rates. For the Barmenia it rose from four to one, for the Signal Iduna even from ten to two. The DKV improved from nine to five.
