Anyone who prefers to have a bagel or a sandwich in the morning, or to have yogurt or muesli for breakfast, is doing very well. In fact, if you eat something hot, you are doing your health a great favor.
Four reasons why a hot breakfast is healthy
1. Eases digestion.
By cooking or heating breakfast, you relieve your own digestion of a lot of the work, because hot food is easier to digest than cold, raw food. Compared to muesli with milk, porridge eases the burden on the gastrointestinal tract because it requires less energy to digest.

To do this, the cereal flakes are simply boiled in a saucepan with the ingredients and spices of your choice in a little water, for example with berries and fruit, nuts and a little cinnamon. Turmeric is also a wonderful breakfast spice because it has an anti-inflammatory effect and strengthens the immune system.
- Scrambled eggs or pancakes: Scrambled eggs and pancakes are also a great option for a hot breakfast if you like egg dishes. If you make scrambled eggs with some slow-cooked herbs and vegetables, or pair pancakes with some fruit, you’re also giving your body valuable nutrients.
- Toasted bread: If you don’t want to do without bread for breakfast, it’s best to put it in the toaster. It doesn’t have the same positive health effects as porridge or the superfood oatmeal, but at least the bread is warm and easier to digest.
