FRITZ!Box 7590 and 7590 AX: Lab update released

Replacement in AVM. There is no new FRITZ!Box and no final version of FRITZ!OS, but there is fresh food for those who love to try. Specifically, the FRITZ!Box 7590 and 7590 AX are currently receiving a lab update. If you’re already using a lab build, you can download the update right out of the box, everyone else will find it on this website.

Note for users who are not using the lab version but want to try it out:

  1. Read and confirm the information displayed on the AVM lab page for your FRITZ!Box.
  2. Click “Download” and save the file to your computer.
  3. Unzip the lab file (*.zip).
  4. Carry out the update via the FRITZ!Box user interface and select “View: Advanced” in the footer.
  5. Select “System / Update” from the menu.
  6. Select the “FRITZ!OS File” tab. Save the configuration of your FRITZ!Box. The execution must also be confirmed.
  7. Use “Choose File” to select the firmware file you previously downloaded.
  8. Click “Start Update”.
  9. Follow the instructions on the screen.

The “Info” LED on the FRITZ!Box flashes during the update process. It expires when the update process is complete. Be patient, this process may take a few minutes. As soon as the update is complete, the FRITZ!Box restarts and is ready for operation again.
