Halo Infinite: 343 Industries Understands Fan Frustration

infinity halo had a very good start. The free-to-play multiplayer mode launched in mid-November, just in time to compete against big shooters like Battlefield 2042 and Call of Duty: Vanguard, both of which were winding down. The rebirth of the arena shooter? After a few months, we know it was just a brief “pop-up”. After the launch of the campaign on December 8, things calmed down. really quiet.

To date, the number of Halo Infinite players has been greatly reduced. It is no longer in the top 5 Xbox games. Steam (PC) has no more than 10,000 concurrent players, which puts it only in the TOP 100. Developer 343 Industries is having trouble releasing new content, especially for the shooter’s multiplayer mode. But the forge and the cooperative campaign are still missing. The director of the study community, Brian Jarardadmitted that the player base is fed up with these delays.

Fans are angry: when will new content arrive for Halo Infinite?

In a Reddit post, Jarrard responded to a fan that 343 acknowledges the annoyance of the delays and needs to keep fans informed as new features are added.

“In fact, there are many challenges and limitations. We are certainly not happy that we cannot meet the expectations of the players and the community, it is a difficult situation as the team will need time to process it. For now, the focus is on S2 and we’ll have more to share on that in the coming weeks. Meanwhile, there is a lot of production planning, costing, scheduling, setup, etc. going on that doesn’t really lend itself to regular detailed updates. We understand that the community is running out of patience, and to be honest, I think it’s understandable that you’re tired of words. We just need some time for the team to work out the details and then we can certainly share as much as we can.” Brian Jarard on reddit.com.

Community reaction to these words from a 343 Industries employee has been divided.

Halo Infinite: Here’s what to expect in Season 2. – (C)343 Industries

Halo Infinite: 343 Industries probably didn’t expect content to be requested…

visco0825 He sums it up this way: “They basically admit they have no idea what they’re doing and still plan. Also, they finally realize that they need to hire people to develop the Halo game. There is no roadmap because there is literally no roadmap. How… is this a joke? Does Microsoft, one of the largest and most successful companies, really work like this?

twin tail tactician indirectly compares Halo Infinite to Fortnite: “Maybe it would have been a better idea to make a free-to-play shooter instead of tying the game into multiplayer. The reason Fortnite is popular is that it gets updated often enough to keep to people interested and spending. Meanwhile, Halo Infinite is still $60, but players can play it through Xbox Game Pass. Literally, it’s not surprising they’re getting into trouble. And surprising they haven’t considered it.” .

Many fans are also of the opinion that 343 Industries management hired many pre-release “contract workers” to remake them after the release of Halo Infinite. Now 343 is standing there with a smaller team and can’t go any further.

Comment: Why is Halo Infinite multiplayer boring for many players?

i like it already twin tail tactician summed it up nicely: there’s always something new happening in Fortnite. Sure, it’s a different game principle, because you always play on the same map, but you get something new every week. There are always new skins, something that isn’t really a big deal with Halo Infinite. It doesn’t matter if another player’s Spartan armor looks cool now. At least not me. Although cat ears are certainly nice. There are no controllers or banana switches jumping around the ring. That’s not what I was talking about.

Basically 343 Industries should bring new maps, but also some kind of competitive mode. Actually, you can’t play more than one online match in a row in multiplayer. It eventually gets boring, even if it was “cool” at first. But that was in beta. 5 months after launch, something should be happening to keep the Halo Infinite community going. The grand master plan is missing. And if you are still in the “planning phase”, then you have overslept a lot! So don’t expect too much from Season 2. The co-op campaign and forging are said to start in Season 3. Or are you still planning…
