PlayStation VR 2: Detailed introduction via Showcase soon?

In line with the more powerful PlayStation 5 hardware, Sony also plans to launch the VR headset’s successor, PlayStation VR 2. The good piece could be featured in more detail soon in a detailed showcase.

There is speculation that Sony may soon be planning a full showcase for the upcoming PlayStation VR 2 headset to introduce the new hardware in detail. This is indicated by information from insiders who are generally well informed.

First of all, he refers to Tom Henderson, who points out that Sony sent an email with the subject line “PlayStation VR2 Revealed” over the weekend. In this context, he is referring to parallels with a similar email Sony sent a few weeks before a major PlayStation 5 showcase in June 2020.

Incidentally, Henderson also claims that other insiders have heard that such a reveal event is actively in the works. Greg Miller from a bit funny video as well as Jeff Grubb of giant bomb counting. Both reportedly independently reported such rumors on their respective shows.

Sony has already officially announced the successor to the VR headset, but has released hardly any tangible details so far. In particular, there has only been rudimentary comment on games planned for the hardware with at least announcing Horizon: Call of the Mountain, a spin-off of Geurrilla Games’ Horizon series.

The company reportedly introduced its new hardware to at least several game developers back in March at the Game Developers Conference. A showcase now could also bring deeper impressions for the general public, more game announcements, prices and a release date, because there is no such thing yet.
