A six pack like J.Lo or a plump butt like Kim Kardashian – star figures are role models and motivation for many.
But you don’t get good looks for free, even if you’re a celebrity. Whether it’s strength training, cardio, or abs, legs, and glutes, fans regularly get gym snaps.
Which celebrity workout is particularly effective? The British company My Vital Metrics investigated this and found out which workout burns the most calories.
Without anticipating the location, we can already tell you this: imitation is definitely worth it.
So was the study
First, the company found out which ten stars were particularly popular with young women when it came to fitness at the time.
The top 10 are: Jennifer Lopez, Kim Kardashian, Ellie Goulding, Kourtney Kardashian, Vanessa Judgens, Chrissy Teigen, Margot Robbie, Jessy J, Khloé Kardashian and Beyoncé.
Several women and men were then fitted with a fitness tracker. Within two weeks they completed the workouts that celebrities shared on Instagram.

Ellie Goulding trains more effectively
According to the study, the winner is the British singer Ellie Goulding. With her training, the test subjects burned a whopping 573 calories, the male test subjects even 679 calories.
However, training also has it all. In one hour, Ellie performs six different exercises, such as squats with weights.
She impressively shows that hard training pays off.
Second place: Kim Kardashian
Kim Kardashian is fitter than ever today, she also owes it to her iron sports show. Like Ellie, Kim works out for an hour, six days a week, according to Kim’s personal trainer, Melissa Alcantara.
The women burned 552 calories in the test series, the men 644. It’s not really surprising that Kim’s workout focuses on the legs and glutes.
Taking to Instagram, the reality star showed off what that workout looks like with her trainer.
First, Kim starts with circuit training consisting of four rounds of each of these four exercises:
- 100 jumping jacks with weights
- 50 jump squats on a cable machine
- 100 BOSU climbers
- 50 box jumps
Then Kim hits the treadmill for another 25 minutes (speed 2.5, incline 15), definitely sounds sweaty!
Third place: Kourtney Kardashian
Athletics seems to run in this family, with Kim’s older sister Kourtney Kardashian coming in third.
As the American reveals, her favorite thing to do is HIIT workouts. In this one she builds, for example, burpees, resistance band exercises, squats and lunges.
Kourtney’s favorite exercise: box jumps. Three sets of ten box jumps, he tries to do every day.
In 60 minutes, the men burned 598 calories and the women 497 calories.
Fourth place: Jennifer Lopez
J.Lo’s workout is only ten minutes shorter, earning her fourth place. The testers burned 489 calories during exercise and the male test subjects burned 579 calories.
After a 10-minute cardio session, J.Lo’s workout consists of kettlebell exercises, push-ups and shoulder taps.
Also at home, J.Lo likes to do sweaty sessions, preferably circuit training with the whole family.
It lasts twenty minutes, in which as many rounds as possible must be completed.
The unit begins with a 400 meter run. Then do 15 kettlebell swings, 10 pushups, 15 shoulder presses, and 15 incline rows.
J.Lo and her family completed four laps, finishing in a board position in the closing seconds. Who offers more?
Fifth place: Beyonce
To build strength and endurance and stay in shape for her shows, Beyoncé relies on a combination of interval, weight, and strength training.
His 50-minute workout includes sit-ups, lunges, punches, and jumping jacks. The women burned 475 calories, the men 556.

6th place: Khloe Kardashian

The female test subjects burned 469 calories, the men 554. This puts the workout just behind Beyoncé’s workout.
However, strictly speaking, you would burn more calories during Khloe’s workout than her sisters, because the calorie burn per minute was higher, but the overall workout was shorter.
No wonder, because just the sight of squats, push-ups, stretches, jumping jacks, and strength training brings beads of sweat to your forehead.
7th place: Chrissy Teigen
In her 40-minute workout, Chrissy Teigen works her triceps, strengthens her core, and runs. Female test subjects reached a calorie intake of 389 calories, male test subjects 459 calories.
For the rest, the model also likes to do pilates or dance exercises.
Eighth place: Vanessa Hudgens
‘High School Musical’ actress Vanessa Hudgens enjoys taking spin classes.
Test subjects took a similar course and burned 363 calories (women) and 411 calories (men). There is eighth place for Vanessa.
9th place: Jessie J.
Jessie J secured second to last place, her training being more unusual than that of the other celebrities.

10th place: Margot Robbie
Last place in the most effective celebrity workout category goes to Margot Robbie.
To keep fit and relax at the same time, she regularly attends an hour-long Pilates session. The female test persons burned 195 calories, the male burned 225 calories.
Why do men burn more calories than women?
In this series of studies, the calorie intake of the male test subjects was always higher than that of the female test subjects.
And there’s a reason: Most fitness trackers use standard equations based on averages to calculate a person’s BMR.
These equations assume that men have more muscle mass and therefore burn more calories than women, even at the same weight.
