New battery calibration for Apple Watch Series 4 and Series 5
Apple addresses innovations in battery management in the release notes of the second beta version of watchOS 9. Therefore, the built-in battery of the respective Apple Watch is recalibrated after the installation of watchOS 9. The reason: capacity The maximum battery life of the watch needs to be mapped more accurately to provide users with more accurate information than before about the status of the built-in battery.
The feature only affects two models of the smartwatch: Apple Watch Series 4 and Apple Watch Series 5. For both devices, watchOS 9 automatically recalibrates the battery. The feature is not used in newer models such as Apple Watch Series 6 and Apple Watch Series 7. It is not known why Apple limits automatic calibration to Series 4 and Series 5.
Known issues in the second beta

Additionally, FaceTime audio calls are permanently muted if users receive a VoLTE call during the call. The watchOS 9 beta is currently only available to developers. The first public beta version is expected to appear in July.
